LAW & ORDER | Abramoff Scandal, Sopranos

Law & Order cracks me up. I love when they do episodes that mirror real-life drama. This week they're doing a show on the Jack Abramoff Republican lobbyist scandel. Ha. Here's the pitch:

SLAYING OF SECRET SERVICE AGENT HAS DETECTIVES SNIFFING AROUND LOBBYIST, CONGRESSMAN AND INDIAN CASINOS --The brutal beating murder of a female Secret Service agent in her home has Detectives Logan (Christopher Noth) and Barek (Annabella Sciorra) sniffing around the many clients of her husband Jay (guest star David Alan Bashche), a well-connected lobbyist who is working both for and against an unpopular tribal Indian gaming casino on Long Island. But the detectives want to know why the victim's husband hid their laptop and shredded files soon after discovering her body -- and his curious dealings with a slippery congressman widen the police investigation to include more hidden crimes. Jamey Sheridan and Courtney B. Vance also star. TV-14 V

In related news, Michael Imperioli, better know as The Soprano's Christopher Moltisanti, will reprise his role as a good-guy detective Nick Falco on Law & Order this May. Imperioli guested on a couple episodes last season.....

60 MINUTES | Mike Wallace, Signing Off

Mike Wallace, the baritone-voiced personality that has guided 60 Minutes since its start in 1968, is stepping down. While I'm sad to see a good journalist like Mike go, I am truly sad to learn that it wasn't another one of the news programs faces that would forever leave the show.

Can someone explain to me why Andy Rooney, possibly the most-annoying-person-to-ever-exist-who-I-wish-the-fires-of-hell-would-swallow-whole-and-rip-his-black-heart-out, is still with the show?!?!

Virtually every Sunday I tune into 60 Minutes before switching over to watch The Simpons, Family Guy, Sopranos, etc. No matter how informative and education the shows first fifty-two minutes are, the last eight are painful thanks to Andy Rooney obnoxious commentary about how things were better in 1934 when women, blacks, and gays had no rights and computers didn't exist.

AHhhhhhhhhh. I fucking hate Andy Rooney.........

THE STATE | Reuniting, Coming To iTunes

Comedy Central's Reno 911 doesn't really do it for me. I also couldn't quite get into Stella, which I hear Comedy Central still hasn't picked up for a second season. Anyway, Reno 911 is still on the air and they're even making a feature film called Reno 911: Miami.

In the film, the retarded Reno cops are called in to save the day after a terrorist attack disrupts a national police convention in Miami Beach during spring break. The plot of which sounds eerily similiar to Police Academy 5: Assignment: Miami Beach, and the fact that I know that scares me.

The highlight of the film will likely be the big seen in which all eleven members of The State! This marks their first onscreen appearance by the group since 1995. They have reunited for the Aspen and New York Comedy Festivals in 1997.

The State put out a release where they discussed a possible reunion and MTV putting their old show on iTunes:

The three "Reno" stars said members of the State are well aware, and appreciative, of petitions by the show's long-suffering fans to finally have the episodes released on DVD. Offering them some hope, Lennon said, "There is a rumor that MTV will be releasing 'The State' on iTunes, and maybe if I mention that now, it'll help move it along...." 'The State' always exists," Lennon continued, dropping a bombshell. "There'll probably be, at some point, some other version of the State doing some kind of live show."

ANDY ROONEY VS GARRISON KEILLOR

I can't decide whom I loathe more, 60 Minute's Andy Rooney or A Prairie Home Companion's Garrison Keillor? These have to be the two most annoying people ever to exist.

I cannot fathom why Andy Rooney still has his plush job on the most respected and newsworthy program on television. This old bastard sits at his desk every Sunday and goes off on stupid monologues about why computer are pointless, how inserts in newspapers are annoying, and things he found in his desk. I know 60 Minutes skews older in their viewing audience, but Rooney is just the epitome of dumb-ass old bastards who are scared of progress and intelligence. Not to mention he's a raving racist:

"I object every time I hear the word, words ‘African-American.’ You know? I don’t know why we have gotten caught with that. The word ‘Negro’ is a perfectly good word, it’s a strong word and a good word. I don’t see anything wrong with that."

My problem with Garrison Keillor has less to do with his viewpoints, opinions or his unlistenable monologues. My problem is his voice. It is so freaking grating. And God damn is A Prairie Home Companion just the most pointless program ever created for radio......

MISSHAPES V HEATHERETTE | Daytime Nightlife

I just saw this posted on our sister site, Whores of Fashion, and am reprinting it here. Enjoy.......

In 1990, daytime television had Donahue, Geraldo, Joan Rivers, and a pre-world domination Oprah. These programs didn't have book clubs or any redeeming social value. They had lots of fucked up people doing fucked up things. In other words, it was the perfect forum for Michael Alig, James St James, Jennytalia, Richie Rich and the Club Kid scene.

Seeing as Richie Rich and his Heatherette bitches already did the daytime television scene back in 1990 (God, how old is Richie?), don't you think that the Misshapes crew should start appearing on today's daytime talk shows like Maury, Ricki Lake, Sally, or Jenny Jones?

I'm not talking about having Greg, Leigh, or Geo sit down on The View or Ellen, I'm talking a full on insane talk show experience. How fab would that be........

GORILLAZ & MADONNA | Live Mashup at the Grammys

So it seems to be confirmed that Madge will confess her dance floor secrets at the Grammys to Damon Albarn and his Gorillaz Squad. 

I hear that the animated superstars will do a live mashup with the material mom, mixing "Feel Good Inc" with "Hang Up", while throwing down some little surprises, including a possible spot with hot topic M.I.A.!!!

This is like the ultimate iPod commercial! I wonder if Steve Jobs has already bought space for the first commercial you see after this performance..........
