RADIOHEAD | US Tour Tickets Onsale, iTunes?

Radiohead will be playing the Boston's Bank of America Pavilion on June 4th & 5th and Chicago's Auditorium Theatre on June 19th & 20th. Ticketmaster put up a page that announced tickets for both these shows going onsale to the public on Saturday May 6th at 10am EST, they then removed the page after a mere hour. Hmmmm.

Their is also a big rumor that Radiohead - who supposedly have still not officially resigned with Capitol Records (They posted about this on their Dead Air Space blog, but removed the item after Capitol Records asked them too) - will release an ep of new material exclusively through online digital music outlets like iTunes this June or July. Sweet.

GUNS N ROSES | Already Added Two More Shows

Are you worried about getting shut out when tickets go onsale for Guns N Roses at the Hammerstein Ballroom tomorrow morning?

Relax, I've heard that Guns N Roses has already booked two additional dates at the 3,500 capacity venue on May 12th and 14th. Tickets will likely go onsale once the 15th and 17th sell out.......

Also, Boston-based guitarist Joshua Craig, who plays in the psychedelic metal band The Alien Blakk, has just auditioned to replace Buckethead who replaced Robin Finke who replaced Slash......

Anyone known anything about TV On The Radio playing Union Pool tonight in Williamsburg? This a rumor? Or is this real.......

GORILLAZ | Dennis Hopper Performed, Brooklyn Vegan's Secret Identity

PSNYC spread the gossip and we're glad to say we were spot on! Dennis Hopper joined the Gorillaz at the Apollo Theater last night for an excellent rendition of "Fire Coming Out Of The Monkey's Head".

In hilarious related news, it seems that certain bloggers get weird about sitting next to other bloggers. Here's the story:

When I got to the venue, I went immediately to the press check-in and picked up my tickets from the publicist. Shana and I were then escorted (fancy!) to our seats, which, I assumed, was a section reserved for press.

Moments later, a brown-haired, bespectacled girl sat next to me and, assumingly, her boyfriend, bearded and stoic, sat next to her.

"So, I'm assuming you guys are press too..." I said to Glasses on my right.

She smiled, shrugged and then pointed to Beard on her right.

"Oh, cool. What does he write for?" Which I too have been asked over and over again but never have I been given this response.

"You’ll have to ask him. He's pretty private about that stuff."

"So, are you going to tell me yet? Or is it really a big secret?" I ask half-jokingly.

They exchange whispers to one another. Beard isn't looking amenable to the information leak....She sits back and says nothing. All of a sudden, I no longer exist.

GORILLAZ | Dennis Hopper Tonight?

During the first three Gorillaz shows at the Apollo Theater, Dennis Hopper's excellent monologue during "Fire Coming Out Of The Monkey's Head" has been pre-recorded.

I'm hearing some gossip that The Hopper will be making a special appearance at tonight's show. Would be super sweet.....

THE REPLACEMENTS | Best Of, Reunion???

The Replacements were one of the greatest rock n roll bands of all time. And one of the coolest. On May 23rd, Rhino will finally be issuing a career-spanning compilation, Bastards of Young: The Best of The Replacements. This will be followed by a gigantic box set of almost everything The Mats ever recorded!

I may be a biased fan, but I feel The Mats are a truly undervalued band. You barely hear mentions of their influence on bands like The Strokes, The Libertines, Wilco, Ryan Adams, etc. Hopefully these two releases will put the spotlight on their killer music.

And now for the big rumor! According to a former Spin writer (and I won't say which one), Paul Westerberg, Tommy Stinson, and Chris Mars have been recording some new songs to be included on the compilations. While their is no official word about these recording session or if it will go beyond the studio, I would personally welcome a tour with open arms............

FRANZ FERDINAND | Live at Fuse, March 20th

The latest PSNYC rumor has Franz Ferdinand playing a suprise show in New York City on March 20th. I've been tipped that this gig has something to do with FUSE TV or something like that. I wouldn't be surprised if the Franzters performed at the FUSE studios like The Strokes recently had. More details as I hear them........

SPIN MAGAZINE | Finally Sold

The long plagued Spin Magazine has been sold to the San Francisco-based Hartle Media company for a reported $5,000,000 or possibly even less. No word on what Hartle plans to do with the magazine whose readers voted My Chemical Romance the Band of The Year, Best Song, Best Live Act, Best Breakout Band, and Gerard Way the Sex God of the Year. Oy.........
