Are campuses taking away your right to call your Jewish roommate a Christ-killer? The Agape Press (Self-proclaimed "Reliable News From a Christian Source") says yes. They see these "anti-hate" rules as part of trend that limits freedom of speech and censors Christian values on campus.
Other ways that colleges are messing with free speech:
* A ban on "insults, taunts, or challenges directed toward another person" (Appalachian State University).
* A practice of outlawing "statements of intolerance" (North Carolina Central University).
* A requirement that all students "respect the dignity of all persons" and "strive for the openness to learn from differences in people" (UNC Asheville).
* A policy outlawing "disrespect for persons" (UNC Greensboro).
I thought Jesus wanted everyone to respect one another.
Anyway, laugh if you will but Christian groups on campus are a hot issue. Expect to see a lot more outrage from the religious students about things in general.
